Compassionate Care at Valley Vista
At Valley Vista, we understand the profound complexities surrounding drug and alcohol abuse, and we are committed to guiding you through recovery the “right way, not the easy way.” Our clinically-focused, evidence-based approach combines expertise with compassion, creating a space where personalized treatment plans flourish.
In 2003, Jack and Rick, both seasoned managers with over 30 years of experience in a prominent national healthcare system, crossed paths when presented with a compelling opportunity. The state of Vermont had issued an RFP, leading to their joint response and subsequent approval to establish a residential program. This marked the inception of Valley Vista, a commitment to providing the highest quality care to the local community.
Fast forward to 2017, the duo made a pivotal decision. Anticipating retirement, they sold Valley Vista to a nationally recognized Behavioral Health company. However, realizing the program had diverged significantly from their original vision, they returned with a mission. Motivated to restore Valley Vista to its clinical-focused, evidence-based roots, they reacquired the facility. Despite the challenges, their focus remains on the positive—the future, growth, and the program’s ongoing development.
Jack and Rick’s personal journeys deeply influenced Valley Vista. With almost five decades of dedication to helping individuals struggling with addiction, their passion is evident in the facility’s ethos. Now, with ownership back in their hands, Valley Vista is poised for a dynamic future. The vision is clear: to provide the highest quality, gender-specific programming accessible to all. The facility is committed to serving the co-occurring population effectively, offering cost-effective, evidence-based care. Valley Vista, under Jack and Rick’s stewardship, looks forward to continuing its legacy of making a positive impact on individuals and families dealing with addiction.

Personalized Treatment Plans For Clients at Valley Vista
At Valley Vista, we believe in doing recovery differently. Our Gender-Specific treatment centers, located just two hours apart, provide a unique and supportive environment tailored to the specific needs of men and women. With 28 beds at our women’s center and 71 beds in our men’s program, we ensure an intimate, respectful, and gender-specific setting.
Upon arrival, clients are immediately immersed in our full-day schedule, participating in groups and clinical sessions, even on weekends. There’s no separate detox unit at Valley Vista – instead, clients engage in treatment and groups from day one, fostering a sense of accountability and involvement.
Recognizing that every journey is unique, we provide individualized aftercare planning. While we are not affiliated with any specific aftercare program, our dedicated aftercare planners work closely with clients from day one, ensuring a seamless transition to the next step in their recovery journey. Valley Vista is run by clinicians, medical director, psychiatrists, nurses, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners here to support your needs.
